Dispatchers Paint Night Fundraiser
Come join your favorite MDTA dispatchers for a night of painting fun to raise funds for the upcoming dispatchers week. A portion of the proceeds go directly to supporting National Dispatchers Week.

About the event
National Public Safety Telecommincations Week recognizes the men and women who answer the millions of emergency and non-emergency calls placed throughout the year. Starting in 1955 when Contra Costa County treated all of their administrative staff to lunch one afternoon for their hard work and dedication to the department.
Unbeknowing to the dispatch center all of their adminstrative calls were then routed to their dispatch center during ththe lunch which resulted in a marked increase in calls to the dispatch center. The sherrif responsible for the action provided their apology for the uncoordinated two hours of increased calls with a cake that read "Happy Dispatchers Week."
Recogninzed Nationally during the second week in April; National Telecommunicators Week thanks every Telecommunicator for their hard work under stressful conditions
